About Our Cross-Stitch

I grew up with a mother who managed to find time to do many craftsy things, even while raising four children! From ceramics to crewel, she was always being creative, and inspiring us to do so in the process. My cross stitch journey began about 20 years ago while I was waitressing in the summers during my college years. On a particularly slow July day, one of our hostesses was working on a wedding sampler for her son. I had never seen anything like it and was intrigued to learn more. She explained that it was counted cross stitch, gave me some of her issues of Cross Stitch and Country Crafts as well as a few pointers and off I went! Of course, I chose one of the most difficult pieces in the magazines, not knowing any better. I still have that piece, unfinished, and laugh every time I see it. I am a self-taught stitcher but have learned many tips and tricks from other stitchers through the years. I even taught my mother how to cross stitch!

My husband and I are blessed to live in a little country home with a beautiful view. My designs are inspired by God’s beautiful creation and the lovely things in life.
